Aloo Pudina rice / ಆಲೂ ಪುದಿನಾ ರೈಸ್ 


                                 Rice bath 😋 .....hearing that makes my mouth water.Its not only me my sister and brother too are fond of rice bath😊.When we were kids , me and sis used to wait for weekends to eat rice bath from hotel and i remember we both little ones holding hand and walking far to get the parcel and eat them at home.So since from childhood it has become our favorite and love to prepare this at home anytime.During festival everyone wait for sweets but if you ask me or sis what special for festival ..... we both say rice bath 😂 

Well ... Today i am going to share a very simple recipe using Pudina ( mint ) and aloo ( Potato).I have used basmathi rice to make this , you can also make using sona masoori rice.I have added pudina directly but you can also grind them and make it as paste along with chillies to make this recipe.

This recipe can be included for breakfast , lunch or dinner and goes well with Curd ,raitha or any vegetable curry.

Ingredients 

Oil - 2 tbsp
Bay leaf - 1
Cinnamon - 2 inch
Cardamom - 2
Cloves - 4
Star anise - 1
Saunf - 1 tsp
Pudina - 1 cup 
Green chilli - 3 ( chopped)
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
Potato peeled and chopped - 2 medium size
Basmathi rice - 1 cup
Water - 2 cup 
Salt as required

Aloo Pudina rice recipe step by step 
  1. Firstly take pressure cooker and add oil 2 tbsp
  2. Add cinnamon, bay leaf, cloves, cardamom, star anise and saunf 
  3. Further add Pudina 1 cup along with ginger garlic paste, green chillies and fry for 2 mins 
  4. And then add peeled and chopped potato and fry until its slightly golden
  5. Add soaked basmathi rice and fry for 2 mins 
  6. Then add water and salt as required 
  7. Close the lid and pressure cook for 2 whistle
  8. Once pressure falls down, open the lid and mix gently
  9. Aloo Pudina rice ready to be served 

Note :
  • Make sure to soak basmathi for 20 mins (wash and drain water and keep it aside closing the lid for 20 mins)
  • Add chillies according to your taste 
  • You can also garnish with coriander leaves 
  • If you like cashew, then add them at last frying them in ghee or oil
  • Serve with chilled raitha or veg curry
