Colocasia dry palya|ಸಾಮಗಡ್ಡೆ ಪಲ್ಯ 

                           I know picture is super tempting ... isnt it ??? Well this time..... it is Colocasia dry palya! 

By the way i loved clicking this amazing pic and this platter has rice,chillies,Tomato gojju and colocasia Palya 😋

This dish is all time favorite at home and goes well with rice or can also be side dish for rice rasam or sambar. If you are looking for something different.... then this should be on your list 😊

This dish is best for lunch or dinner time and also make sure to serve them hot with rice and ghee.

Recipe details :
  • Colocasia - 1/2 kg 
  • Gram flour - 2 tbsp
  • Oil - 1/4 cup
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Chilli powder - 1/2 tbsp
  • Salt as required


--> Firstly pressure cook the colocasia with only 3 whistles and once it cools down peel them and chop them randomly and keep it aside
-->Then Take a Kadai , add oil 2 tbsp & Turmeric powder 
--> To this add chopped colocasia and salt and fry in medium flame
-->And then add 2 tbsp gram flour and chilli powder and mix well 
-->Further add remaining oil on all the sides and let them fry until its crispy & golden brown
-->Colocasia dry palya is ready to be served

NOTE :
  1. Do not over boil the colocasia as it turns soggy and palya wont taste good.
  2. Adding extra oil makes the palya crispy and tasty but if you do not want then you may skip it 
  3. Chop the colocasia randomly as its already boiled considering the size differs from one to another
  4. Adding gram flour makes the palya more crispy and tasty
  5. You can also add masala like coriander powder ,jeera powder & dry mango powder and serve them as tea time snack
