Cucumber & Dosa ???

Cucumber dosa|ಸೌತೆಕಾಯಿ ದೊಸೆ

Hello All, I was wondering if you have ever heard of cucumber dosa???

Well many of my friends used to ask ... cucumber dosa ?? How does it look and taste and many a times i have sent them pictures and also promised to make these next time 😉

Honestly i wanted to share this recipe from long time and finally here it is "The recipe of cucumber dosa ".

This is one of the tastiest and easiest breakfast recipe that you can add on to your list 😇 and need just few ingredients and also this is similar to Neer dosa.

This taste best and absolutely need no side dish because the dosa taste itself will be so good 😋 .We usually add just pickle as side dish but if you like, can add coconut chutney and even sambar to this dosa:)

There is another tasty dish that we make from cucumber which is called cucumber rotti and soon will be sharing on my blog.

Here you go with the Recipe details👇

Dosa rice - 4 cups
Coconut - 1 cup
Water - 1 cup
Cucumber - 3 cups (grated)
Salt as required
Neer dosa tava (optional)

  • Firstly wash and soak dosa rice overnight in water or at least for 8 hours
  • After 8 hours , Add dosa rice to mixer grinder along with coconut and water
  • Grind them to smooth batter consistency.( Remember the batter consistency is much thicker than Neer dosa batter )
  • To the ready batter , add grated cucumber , salt and mix well.(As cucumber itself has the water content , the water is not required to be added)
  • Spread the batter into the dosa tava
  • Flip and cook both the sides until it is golden brown
  • Cucumber dosa is ready to be served with favorite choice of your pickle
NOTE :

  1. The batter consistency will be thicker than Neer dosa batter
  2. Considering cucumber has water content ,the water is not required to be added but if required you might add water to get the consistency
  3. This taste best with pickle but you can also serve with chutney of your choice
  4. Ensure to wash rice before soaking them in water
  5. Using Neer dosa tava helps you in getting the perfect round shape

Try and let me know in the comment box if you have any questions!

Happy Cooking Peeps !
